Everything is meaningless

Life & Death

Everything is meaningless,” says the Teacher, “completely meaningless!

These aren’t words of a disenchanted worker… someone working in a quarry, in a factory putting screws into something or hard labour… these are words from a king at the height of his reign, and not just any King these were the words of King Solomon… the wisest person that has ever lived and he gets to a point in his life where he says “everything is completely meaningless”

Solomon in the book of Ecclesiastes (a book full of Solomons thoughts about life)  goes on to say what he tried to make his life more exciting (and he was wealthy enough to try it ALL)… he got drunk, he brought more stuff, he conquered cities, he had a harem of 1000 women… that’s A LOT of sex.

And at the end of it all he says “It all means nothing…”

every day your life is the same…

every day you eat breakfast… you go to work… you have lunch… you watch TV… you… and you…

The sun rises… the sun sets… everything just keeps on going round and round…

So what’s it all about???

Why bother getting out of bed???

Because you were created for MORE than this… you were created for HEAVEN.

So what was Solomon’s conclusion?

Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty. God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.

You see we need to look to Heaven…

The town you live in may be pretty cool… but it’s not Heaven is it?

Heaven is where you were destined to go… don’t take your eyes off the prize.
